BirdLife International in Indochina has just released its quarterly newsletter, The Babbler No.38, for April - June 2011, which includes a feature on BirdLife CEPF Regional Implementation Team progress in Indochina (pages 32 - 45). This feature gives an update on additional small and large grants, summary of the last call for Letters of Inquiry in Indo-Burma and brief progress of funded projects. 8 Dec 2010- After two and a half years of operation in Indo-Burma region, CEPF and BirdLife organised mid-term assessment workshops in late July 2010. This report aims to assess progress towards the goals set out in the ecosystem profile, evaluate gaps in the CEPF grant portfolio and set priorities for the remainder of the five-year investment. Largest ever White-shouldered Ibis count [7]
14 Sept 2010- A record-breaking 429 White-shouldered Ibis Pseudibis davisoni have just been recorded in Cambodia, making the known global population much larger than previously thought. With so many birds remaining in the wild the chances of conservation success are greatly improved – welcome news for this Critically Endangered bird species. More [7]...
16 Aug 2010- Non-governmental organisations (NGOs), academic institutions, community groups and other civil society organisations working in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam were given another opportunity today to apply for funding to conserve the Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot. Largest ever count of White-shouldered Ibis [19]
20 July 2009- Cambodian conservationists recently counted the largest number of White-shouldered Ibis Pseudibis davisoni ever recorded. At least 161 were counted; confirming that Western Siem Pang is the single most important site for the species. More..... [19]
