Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park

Located in Quang Binh province, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is situated in one of the largest contiguous areas of limestone karst in South-East Asia. The national park contains some of the most extensive karst cave systems in the world, and has been designated a Natural World Heritage Site. To the west, the national park borders Hin Namno National Protected Area in Laos.

Birding highlights: Chestnut-necklaced Partridge, Red-collared Woodpecker, Brown Hornbill, Sooty Babbler and Short-tailed Scimitar Babbler.

Bird fauna: Over 200 bird species have been recorded at Phong Nha-Ke Bang, including such rarities as Crested Argus, Chestnut-necklaced Partridge, Red-collared Woodpecker and Short-tailed Scimitar Babbler.

Other features: Limestone karst cave systems, endemic primates.

Transportation: Car, motorbike. Phong Nha-Ke Bang is a major tourist attraction, and can be easily accessed by road from Dong Hoi town.

AccommodationThere is a guesthouse at the national park headquarters.

Permission: All visitors must enter the park with an official guide. An entrance fee is charged.
