Cat Ba National Park

This site is situated on Cat Ba island in Hai Phong City. Cat Ba is a large, limestone karst island, at the southern edge of Ha Long Bay, a Natural World Heritage Site.

Birding highlights : Black Kite, White-bellied Sea Eagle and Pacific Reef Egret.

Bird fauna : Despite its status as a National Park, the highest protection level in Vietnam, Cat Ba island has been heavily disturbed by large-scale development activities, especially for the tourism industry. Birds have been affected as much as other species, and the most readily observed species on the island are now Black Kite and Large-billed Crow.

Other features : Scenic landscape, Golden-headed Langur (endemic primate).

Transportation : Car/bus to Hai Phong City then boat to the island.

Accommodation :  There are many hotels and guesthouses in the main town.

Permission : Tourism site, accessible to all Vietnamese and foreign visitors.
