The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) was founded in 1895 as the New York Zoological Society. Headquartered at the world famous Bronx Zoo, WCS uses science-based approaches to conserve wildlife and wild places. WCS currently oversees more than 300 conservation projects worldwide, including in 16 Asian countries. WCS works in Cambodia under a five year memorandum of understanding with the Royal Government to support wildlife conservation and research activities, through both field-based activities focusing on training and capacity building for Government staff and the production of appropriate technical and awareness raising materials in the Cambodian language.
